Normoxic Trimix

The IANTD Normoxic trimix course is designed to train divers to dive between the depth range of 39m and 60m without the associated problems of completing the dives on air

Course Content

The IANTD Normox Trimix course provides the diver with the ability to safely dive to depths of up to 60m without the added complications and narcosis of completing the dives on air. This course is usually taught in combination with the technical diver course, although can be run on its own.

Prerequisites

Course is open to all divers over the age of 18 (15 with parent or guardian approval) qualified as an IANTD advanced EANx Diver, with proof of a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which at least 30 were deeper than 27m, or sufficient experience doing technical dives to satisfy the instructor that the student has the ability and knowledge to continue into this level of training.

Equipment Requirements

Basic scuba equipment is required along with

  • A manifolded, nitrox twin set with adequate volume, rigged with a primary and back up regulator, one of which is
mounted on a min. 1.5m hose
  • A decompression stage cylinder and regulator suitable for use with high fraction oxygen mixes
  • 2 x Reels and DSMB’s, preferably one primary orange and one emergency yellow
