Deep Diver
The IANTD Deep Diver course is designed to provide responsible training to those who want to extend their diving range on air.
Course Content
The IANTD deep diver course is designed to train divers in the skills, performance, theory and planning of deep dives. It is recommended that this course be taking in conjunction with either the basic or advanced nitrox courses. The course is taught over three days, including over 100 minutes of OW bottom time spread of four dives
Theory is normally held at one of the Scuba & Outdoor Pursuits Facilities and dives are normally completed at Stoney Cove. Both aspects can be completed at any other location, please contact us regarding availability and costs

- Physiological and Psychological considerations for deep diving
- Introduction to oxygen management
- Nitrogen Narcosis
- Hypothermia and Body heat considerations
- Decompression Theory
- Introduction to Deep Diving Breathing Techniques
- Equipment Considerations
- Dive Planning and Gas Management
- Question and Answer Sessions
- Practical Aspects Covered Includes
- Four dives totalling 100 minutes of bottom time.
- Introduction of a number of essential new diving skills
Prerequisites
Course is open to all divers over the age of 18 (15 with parent or guardian approval) qualified to Advanced Open Water or Equivalent, with proof of a minimum of 10 logged dives.
